Adtech Founders Raise $30 Million to Automate Mobile Ads for Publishers

CloudX enlists AI agents for ad pricing, optimizing inventory

CloudX, a mobile ad startup founded by former adtech executives from MoPub and MAX, raised $30 million in a Series A round of funding.

CloudX treats mobile advertising infrastructure like code, deploying Anthropic’s Claude technology to test pricing and optimize inventory for publishers. CloudX connects publishers to advertiser-side tech partners including Meta and Liftoff as well as publisher-side technology firms such as Magnite via a dedicated mobile SDK. Jim Payne, cofounder and CEO of CloudX, said the system could reshape mobile monetization, boosting both revenue and user retention.

“This would be something that a monetization admin person at a publisher could historically do, but in a very painstaking way,” Payne told ADWEEK.
