Paddington Bear, the beloved character from a series of British children’s books, has done the unthinkable: In a new TV commercial, he’s put down his marmalade sandwich, which he’s been eating since 1958, and tried Marmite instead. Whatever next?! In England, this is not going down well (sort of like Marmite itself). Lifelong P.B. fans are hopping mad, and the character’s creator, Michael Bond, seems to be upset with his daughter, who runs the P.B.
