A closer look at hand models, warts and all

This article about some of advertising’s most popular hand models is pretty neat. Turns out there are maybe 10 of them who get most of the important gigs, much like voice actors, and while male hand model James Furino insists that “you can’t get rich doing it,” it’s not a bad living. (Just look at Gemma Howorth, a young British hand model we wrote about last year, who earns up to £2,000 a day by touching Lily Cole’s face with her delicious hands.) The most interesting tidbit in this new survey concerns Pamela Moses (below), who provided her hands for Megan Fox’s Super Bowl ad for Motorola. Moses was called upon because Fox “owns a pair of infamously ugly thumbs.” Upon further review, my goodness, yes, they are quite stumpy looking!
