Agencies tackle Islam’s image in America


In light of the controversy over the proposed Islamic center two blocks from Ground Zero, Adweek challenged agencies to apply their skills to address anti-Muslim sentiment in America. The brief: change the perception of ordinary Americans toward Islam and Muslims, and encourage dialog between those who oppose and those who support the building of the community center. More than 30 agencies were invited. Five ended up submitting ideas (in whatever media they deemed appropriate): Gotham in New York; Arnold in Boston; Agencytwofifteen in San Francisco; Campbell-Ewald in Detroit; and Conversation in New York.
