For Fox, the first half of the TV season went very much according to plan: the broadcaster won the fall in the adults 18-49 category for the third consecutive year. But 2022 has been a different story.

Last Wednesday, Fox postponed its country music drama Monarch—its premier midseason freshman show, which had been scheduled to debut on Jan. 30, following the NFC Championship Game—all the way to next fall, because of concerns over potential pandemic-related delays.
