Fox News Channel’s multimillion dollar investment in a new newsroom and studio space is about more than a modernization of its news operation. “It was a fresh start,” said Warren Vandeveer, evp of technical operations and engineering, who is overseeing the multiphase project. The revamp comes after two years of serious internal challenges including lawsuits over workplace sexual harassment and racial discrimination.

Since its inception in 1996, most Fox News producers, editors and reporters worked out of a dark, basement newsroom in the News Corp.
