When the name Netflix was still synonymous with red envelopes and DVDs by mail, Uzo Aduba joined the cast of a comedy-drama called Orange is the New Black. The actor was drawn to the unique storytelling of the book-based project, even though she wasn’t quite clear on the distribution platform.
“I was auditioning blind,” she said during Adweek’s Convergent TV Summit this week. “Streaming didn’t exist. I kind of thought the show was going to be on the internet.
