This summer, Joel McHale jokingly told Adweek that he had "30 good years left" as host of E!'s The Soup. But he didn't even get 30 good weeks: E! announced today that the series, which skewers the week's most ridiculous moments in television and pop culture, will be ending after 22 seasons.

The Soup's final episode will air Friday, Dec. 18, at 10 p.m. with E! continuing to produce new episodes on Fridays until then.

The show, which has aired 3,324 episodes to date, launched in 1991 as Talk Soup and was hosted at the time by Greg Kinnear.
