Adweek's tentpole event returned for its fifth year

After a two-year virtual hiatus, Brandweek made its triumphant return to a live stage earlier this month. From Sept. 12-16, the industry’s leading marketers and executives converged at the InterContinental hotel in Miami, Fla. Over the course of five days both in-person and virtual attendees had access to a variety of sessions that explored the state of the industry after two years of rapid evolution and change. Noted speakers included Kevin Hart, Kristin Cavallari of Uncommon James and Gatorade’s Kalen Thornton. The fifth and final day of the conference was dedicated to Web3 and the metaverse, featuring an entire day of content exploring the opportunities these relatively new concepts have to offer.

In addition to the in-depth programming, this year’s Brand Visionary was awarded to singer Pharrell Williams, who was there to accept his award on stage. Other Brand Genius honorees included Kia’s Russell Wager and Planned Parenthood, this year’s Brand Purpose honoree.
