Stagwell Sunsets Assembly, Relaunches as Stagwell Media

New agency is built around the Stagwell Machine operating system

Stagwell is sunsetting the Assembly agency brand and relaunching it as Stagwell Media, the holding company said Tuesday (Oct. 6).

Stagwell Media will be led by Liz Rutgersson, who joined Stagwell as the CEO of Assembly in September. She told ADWEEK plans were already in place to launch the new agency when she was hired, which she said aims to push the capabilities of a traditional media agency to fill a growing gap for clients.

“Clients’ needs are changing more drastically,” Rutgersson said. “They’re looking for a partner who can work with greater agility, have faster access to insights, have stronger integration across disciplines, both media and beyond, and then have really practical ways to leverage AI to improve their business performance.”
