Publicis Groupe chief creative officer Nick Law is leaving to join Apple in September.

Publicis CEO Arthur Sadoun announced what he called “bittersweet news” in an internal memo. Sadoun touted Publicis Groupe’s accomplishments since Law’s arrival from R/GA in May of 2018, including strengthening its creative and strategic teams and brand partnerships, and thanked Law for “bringing to the entire management team and the Groupe creative community a vision and an ambition for modern creativity.”

Law had spent 17 years with R/GA before joining Publicis.

Sadoun said that Publicis will continue that vision going forward with creative leadership such as Liz Taylor, who joined Publicis as a Leo Burnett CCO and Publicis Communications North America CCO back in May; Publicis Sapient Chief Experience Officer John Maeda; and Publicis Groupe U.K.
