Marcel Gets its First CEO as Publicis Competes With Off-the-Shelf AI

Scott Hagedorn and Sam Levine Archer named CEO and CSO of the holdco’s AI platform, which started as an employee tool and now builds agents for more than 90 clients.

Publicis Groupe has spent the past few quarters quietly turning its internal AI platform, Marcel, into a client-facing tool used by thousands of staff to build AI agents for more than 90 clients. Now, it’s picked Scott Hagedorn as Marcel’s first CEO to continue that evolution.

Hagedorn, who joined Publicis from Omnicom in 2022 as chief solutions architect, will be joined by Sam Levine Archer– chief solutions officer for Publicis Groupe–as chief strategy officer at Marcel.

Together, the new leadership team will oversee 400 people globally working to expand Marcel into new areas including creator marketing, sports and culture, and AI search, while keeping their current roles.
