This isn’t an official Apple/Altoids product. But it is a pretty snazzy MP3 player, built by a recent MIT grad who was smitten with the funky industrial-design feel of the Altoids tin. Limor Fried (yes, that’s her name), tells The New York Times: “People put a lot of interesting stuff in Altoids tins. Usually it’s one of two options—either drugs or condoms.”

Callard & Bowser-Suchard marketing director Chris Peddy then weighs in: “Altoids have always been what we call a curiously strong lifestyle accessory,” he says.
