Leave it to Katie Couric to politicize donut eating. After admitting on her CBS blog that she likes Dunkin’ Donuts Munchkins (and French vanilla coffee), she felt compelled to add: “Micro-targeters would tell you [eating] Dunkin’ Donuts means I’m a Republican. If I was having a skinny double latte from Starbucks, I’d be a Democrat. What if you’re a bi-café java consumer?” Say what? In fact, it was a Democrat, Bill Clinton, who elevated donut passion to the highest office in the land (though he reportedly preferred Krispy Kreme), and it’s a conservative talk-show host, Laura Ingraham, who’s constantly touting Starbucks.
