Inside Edition Enlists Simone Biles to Help Cover Super Bowl

Rio's U.S. Gymnastics star will report Jan. 30 through Feb. 5

Smart move. Simone Biles, who calls Houston home, will be providing special coverage of Super Bowl LI week festivities for Inside Edition. She is paired on this front with Megan Alexander.

From today’s announcement:

“Simone is the perfect person to serve as our special correspondent for Super Bowl 51,” Inside Edition executive producer Charles Lachman said. “Like the players on the contending teams, she’s an extraordinary athlete, who has achieved the highest distinction in her sport.”

“In addition, her tremendous charm, intelligence and poise are exactly what we look for in our on-air talent.”

Biles’ assignment partner Alexander has been with Inside Edition since 2007 and has covered the Super Bowl most years during that span. In 2014, she separately joined CBS’s Thursday Night Football as a special correspondent. Alexander also once worked as a TV reporter for KENS5 in nearby San Antonio.

Perhaps Hannah Storm can corral Biles at some point for some Houston talk. As daily newspaper the Chronicle reported, Storm’s return home for Super Bowl week as part of ESPN’s massive coverage team happens to coincide with her mother’s birthday.
