Acting Up: CBS’ Tony Awards HH Rises 5%

Household ratings for the Tony Awards on CBS on Sunday, June 15 were not only up 5 percent over last year to a 4.4, but the telecast also increased in viewers to 6.2 million, according to fast national ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

Ratings have been on the downswing for the telecast over the past few years, and the increase this year came in head-to-head airing with the NBA Finals on ABC. The Tony telecast was flat among adults 25-54 over last year, with a 1.5, but the telecast produced only a paltry 1.1 rating among adults 18-49.
