Social video juggernaut TikTok named Shouzi Chew, the financial chief of its Chinese parent company ByteDance, as its new CEO. Chew will retain his role at ByteDance in addition to leading its most popular Western app.
Vanessa Pappas, who has been in charge of the company since August on an interim basis, will stay on as COO.
“The leadership team of Shou and Vanessa sets the stage for sustained growth,” said Yiming Zhang, founder and CEO of ByteDance, in a statement.
