The Senate Friday (July 24) confirmed Meredith Attwell Baker and Mignon Clyburn as Federal Communications Commissioners. With the Senate’s action, the FCC could be at full strength next week.

Baker is the former head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Clyburn is the daughter of Majority whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.), and a member of the S.C. Public Service Commission. Baker fills the vacant Republican seat and Clyburn the empty Democrat seat.
