Nielsen: 1.7 Million Still Unready for DTV

Since the June 12 transition to digital television, more than 800,000 homes have taken action to receive digital broadcasts, according to the latest count from Nielsen. As of June 28, 1.7 million or 1.5 percent of U.S. homes still remain completely unready for digital TV.

But that’s not the entire story. Not all unready households are completely in the dark; in fact 60 percent of unready households receive at least one low-power or foreign station (from Mexico and Canada).
