NBCUniversal Will Shut Down NBCSN, Its Cable Sports Network, This Year

NHL, Nascar and other programming will migrate to USA Network and streaming service Peacock

NBCUniversal is trimming its cable network portfolio: Sports network NBCSN will be no more by the end of the year.

The company will be moving NBCSN’s top sports programming to USA Network and streaming service Peacock.

NBCSN, which first launched in 1995 as the Outdoor Life Network, is the cable TV home of Nacscar, the NHL, the English Premier League and some live Olympic coverage. As of 2020, it is available in 80.6 million U.S. homes; USA Network is available in 86.2
