NEW YORK Major League Soccer and its partner Univision have launched the second round of “Sueno MLS 2008,” a nationally televised search to find a diamond-in-the-rough soccer player.

Last year’s inaugural search resulted in 2,000 hopefuls responding to a broadcast on Univision’s sports magazine show Republica Deportiva that directed those interested to the Sueno MLS 2007 site to register for open tryouts for a chance to play professionally with Chivas USA. An additional 4,000 were placed on a standby list for those who did not meet tryout requirements.
