Liberman Broadcasting’s new Spanish-language TV network will be cleared in Denver, the 15th largest Hispanic market, with the acquisition of KWHD-TV from LeSEA Broadcasting, for undisclosed terms. The purchase, announced Wednesday (Feb. 3) increases Liberman’s owned-and-operated Estrella TV group to eight and expands the reach of the TV network to about 70 percent of the U.S. Hispanic population.

KWHD-TV is expected to begin airing Estrella TV programming as early as second quarter this year.

“Adding a full-power, must-carry television station in a top 15 Hispanic market is very positive for the Estrella TV network and Liberman Broadcasting in general,” said Lenard Liberman, chief executive officer and president of LBI Media.
