Gospel Music Channel on Monday (June 16) announced it is stepping beyond the parameters of song, adding an original drama series to its 2008-09 programming slate, along with a comedy strip and an unscripted offering.

In the works for the first quarter of 2009 is Gospel Playhouse, a weekly musical dramedy series from playwright J.D. Lawrence. According to GMC, many of the series
