In a move to placate soccer fans who protested an earlier decision to air the upcoming USA-Mexico World Cup qualifier on mun2, NBC Universal on Monday announced it will offer free access to the Latino-targeted cable channel on August 12.

According to NBCU, two major distributors have already lined up for the free preview. DirecTV and DISH Network have agreed to make the mun2 feed available to the entirety of their respective subscriber bases, putting the channel in front of some 56 million viewers.
