Disney, Fox, and WBD Surprisingly Kill Their New Sports Streamer

The companies announced it's game over for Venu Sports

Venu Sports is officially out of the game.

Today, Disney-owned ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery announced in a joint statement that Venu Sports, their proposed virtual MVPD service, will be discontinued. The decision is effective immediately. It comes the same week that Disney announced a deal to combine its Hulu + Live TV business with Fubo.

In their statement, the companies confirmed they “collectively agreed” to stop the streamer’s launch.

“In an ever-changing marketplace, we determined that it was best to meet the evolving demands of sports fans by focusing on existing products and distribution channels,” the companies said.
