Three weeks after announcing a merger that will substantially increase its cable portfolio, Discovery Inc. is saying farewell to one of its current networks.

The company has sold Great American Country network (GAC) to a new investor group, GAC Media LLC, which has also bought streaming platform Ride TV, showcasing equestrian sports, culture and lifestyle. Terms of the two deals were not disclosed.

GAC Media LLC has hired former Crown Media Family Networks president and CEO Bill Abbott to run GAC and Ride TV as president and CEO.
