Comcast’s Xfinity TV online video service now features nearly 150,000 video choices after adding content from Showtime and Viacom cable networks, among others, the cable giant said. Comcast is making the service available for free to all its digital video subscribers nationwide, no matter which Internet service provider they use.

The cable giant also expanded Xfinity’s capabilities compared to the original parameters of the TV Everywhere-style service. For example, users can remotely program one or more home DVRs, and search capabilities have been enhanced, giving folks the ability to find favorite content whether they want to watch it on live TV, on-demand, online or on mobile devices.
