America’s Got Talent (NBC) -Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats):Losing it With Jillian (NBC) ---------- -Ratings Breakdown:It was another slam-dunk victory for ABC care of game six of The NBA Finals (Boston versus the Los Angeles Lakers), which averaged an estimated 11.1 rating/17 share in the overnights for the primetime (9-11 p.m.) portion, and an 11.0/17 from 9-11:30 p.m. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are approximate and only 46 markets were factored into the results. As expected, this was a series-high performance. Here is the half-hour breakdown: NBA Finals, Game 6: 9:00 p.m.: 9.9/15 (#1) 9:30 p.m.: 11.4/17 (#1)10:00 p.m.: 11.1/17 (#1)10:30 p.m.: 12.0/19 (#1)11:00 p.m.: 10.8.19 (#1) The NBA Countdown pre-game was second at 8:30 p.m. with a 4.6/ 7 in the overnights, leading out of an abbreviated version of Jimmy Kimmel Live at an estimated 5.0/ 8 (which included NBA coverage in the Central Time Zone). Earlier in the evening in primetime, President Obama addressed the country on the Gulf Coast Oil Spill for about 15 minutes and the approximate results from 8-8:15 p.m. were as follows: President Obama at 8 p.m.CBS: 5.2/ 9ABC: 4.9/ 8NBC: 4.8/ 8Fox: 3.0/ 5 Due to the Presidential Address, remaining results for the evening for the Big 4 networks are all approximate. On that note, a repeat of CBS’ NCIS scored a 6.8/11 in the overnights from 8:15-9:15 p.m., followed by encore telecasts of NCIS: Los Angeles (6.3/10) and The Good Wife (5.4/10) from 9:15-11:15 p.m. Two days into my trip in Banff, Canada for the Banff World Television Festival and there is a definite Canadian buzz on The Good Wife. Following the news conference, week three of Losing it With Jillian on NBC finished fourth in the 8:30 p.m. half-hour with just a 3.2/ 5 in the overnights. Viewers, needless to say, prefer Jillian Michaels on The Biggest Loser. Next on NBC was summer favorite America’s Got Talent at a 6.8/10 at 9 p.m., followed by a repeat of Last Comic Standing at a last-place 3.1/ 5 at 10 p.m. As a reminder, and excluding The CW, all results in primetime from last night are estimated. Over at Fox, back-to-back episodes of demo friendly Hell’s Kitchen averaged a 4.5/ 7 from 8:15-10:15 p.m. Last, and very least, were repeats of CW dramas One Tree Hill (0.7/ 1), which is not strong enough to anchor Tuesday next season, and Life Unexpected (0.6/ 1), which is worthy of stronger lead-in support. Comparably, ABC posted its biggest summer week in six years (since the week of June 7, 2004) in total viewers and adults 18-49. Of particular note was Sunday’s Celtics-Lakers game five match-up ranking as TV’s most-watched non-Olympic summer telecast since June 23, 2005. Elsewhere, CBS and Fox tied for the No. 2 spot, with CBS second in households and total viewers and Fox the runner-up in the key demos, growing by as much as much as 18 percent among adults 18-34 from one year earlier. NBC, which included the sixth (and final) game of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday, finished third demographically at levels close to one year earlier, while a week of all repeats took its toll on last-place The CW. In summer series-premiere news, NBC drama Persons Unknown was stalled at the Monday gate with just 4.38 million viewers (#48 overall) and a 1.4 rating/4 share among adults 18-49 (#38t) at 10 p.m. Retention out of lead-in Last Comic Standing (Viewers: 5.04 million; A18-49: 2.0/ 6 from 8-10 p.m.) was 87 percent in total viewers and 70 percent in the demo. In specials news, The 64th Annual Tony Awards on CBS Sunday took a hit opposite The NBA Finals, with 6.98 million viewers (#22) and a 1.1/ 3 among adults 18-49 (tied for No.57) from 9-11 p.m. Over at ABC, The Fifa World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert on Friday, which was an edited version of the opening ceremony concert on Univision and ESPN2 one night earlier, tanked at just 3.40 million viewers (#63) and a 1.1/ 4 in the demo (#57t) from 8-10 p.m. What follows are the final national ratings for the week of June 7, 2010 (with percent change versus the comparable year-ago week in parentheses), followed by the top 30 rated programs of the week and the top rated networks on basic cable. -Households:ABC: 4.9 rating/9 share (+ 9), CBS: 4.7/ 8 (+ 2), NBC and Fox: 3.2/ 6 (no change each), CW: 0.6/ 1 (-25) -Total Viewers: ABC: 7.96 million (+ 7), CBS: 7.07 (+ 2), Fox: 5.32 (+ 5), NBC: 5.11 (+ 2), CW: 930,000 (-22) -Adults 18-49:ABC: 2.9/ 9 (+ 7), Fox: 2.0/ 7 (+11), NBC: 1.6/ 5 (- 6), CBS: 1.4/ 4 (no change). It is expected to begin this coming fall. -Maura Tierney Joins Cast of The Whole Truth:Former ER star Maura Tierney, who was forced to exit NBC’s Parenthood due to health related issues, will join the cast of upcoming ABC Wednesday 10 p.m. drama The Whole Truth, which provides equal time to the prosecution and the defense attorney’s work on the same cases. Tierney will play a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney's office in this new Jerry Bruckheimer hour. -Dr. Oz on KABC:The Dr. Oz Show, the hit freshman health-related talker from Sony Pictures Television, has snagged its first Oprah time period: KABC in Los Angeles effective in September 2011.
