NEW YORK The final five new episodes of The CW freshman drama Gossip Girl, which returns April 21, will be available only on the television network and will not be streamed on its Web site, cwtv.com, the network said.

“For these next five weeks, the epicenter of the Gossip Girl universe will be on The CW’s broadcast television airwaves,” said Dawn Ostroff, entertainment president for The CW.
The network will air the new Gossip Girl episodes in its regular time period on Monday at 8 p.m. each week through May 19, and will air a repeat episode the same week on Sundays at 6 p.m. as part of The CW’s “Easy View” rebroadcast.

The cwtv.com Web site will continue to offer exclusive content from Gossip Girl, including post-episode interviews with the show’s executive producer Josh Schwartz, with commentary and analysis and a tease of future story arcs. Behind-the-scenes clips featuring the stars of the show will also be offered, along with two-minute trailer recaps of each episode posted the day after the Monday airings.

There will also be “watch-and-win” contests in which viewers can win a trip for two to New York, where Gossip Girl is produced. There will also be chances to win viewing parties and other prizes.

The first 12 episodes of the series will still be available on the CW Web site for streaming, and episodes of the show will also be available via iTunes.
