The sheer lunacy of our current election cycle is frightening, but it's also very watchable. The same could be said for HBO's Veep, a show that many Washington, D.C., insiders have reportedly called the most realistic portrayal of politics.It shouldn't be surprising, then, that the marketing gurus at HBO decided that New Hampshire voters would appreciate an ad for the show's most-hated character and his current campaign for a congressional seat. CANNES, France—Veep may be a comedy that revels in double standards, but star Julia Louis-Dreyfus says she believes the show might actually be helping solve the gender-imbalance issues that often drive its plot.
The day after the season premieres of Veep and Silicon Valley, HBO announced it's renewing the two Sunday night comedies for 2016."Veep and Silicon Valley are terrific series, and I'm immensely proud that they will return to HBO next year," said Michael Lombardo, HBO programming chief.
