Local LiFT, From Gannett’s BLiNQ Media And ShopLocal, Will Help Large National Retailers Think Local On Facebook

By David Cohen

Two Gannett-owned companies will introduce a solution Wednesday that allows large, national retailers and brands to deliver relevant local ads and promotions to Facebook users, Local LiFT, from social analytics outfit BLiNQ Media and digital marketing solutions provider ShopLocal.

BLiNQ Media and ShopLocal said early adopters of Local LiFT include “major national retailers” and a top regional supermarket, adding that their preliminary data show a year-over-year increase in in-store sales of 3 percent to 4 percent.

BLiNQ Media CEO Luis Caballero said:

Local LiFT is truly one-of-a-kind. No other solution can provide this kind of automated ad creation with local-level, market-specific targeting. Retailers, consumer packaged goods makers, and shopper marketing teams have been looking for an effective solution that delivers local reach with both scale and efficiency. This is it.

Gannett Digital Marketing Services and ShopLocal CEO Vikram Sharma added:

Our solution taps social media’s massive shopper reach and targeting capabilities to deliver a real-time local, social marketing capability for retailers and brands. With Local LiFT, retailers and brands can now programmatically connect with shoppers on social networks to deliver relevant, local ads based on their interests and needs. It’s a marketer’s dream come true.
