Huge has hired Matt Weiss as managing director of growth, as the agency seeks to accelerate its growth strategy.
In the role, Weiss will partner with office leadership across the agency’s network to drive growth initiatives while reporting to Huge CEO Aaron Shapiro.
“The work we are doing at Huge has never been more important or more exciting. We are partnering with our clients to provide them with everything from business strategy and product development to fully integrated global marketing campaigns,” Shapiro said in a statement. “It’s therefore no surprise that the new business process has become increasingly complex. Matt’s nuanced understanding of the needs of today’s CMO makes him an important addition to our team.”
Weiss previously served as global chief marketing officer and chief revenue officer for Havas for four years and also spent over a year as managing partner of Havas New York. Prior to joining Havas he held leadership roles at KBS+ and McCann.
“I looked at many opportunities and with Huge it was love at first sight,” Weiss said in a statement. “They are modern, entrepreneurial, and have amazingly talented people who all share a will to win. I’m excited and energized to join the team.”
Weiss’ arrival follows a series of layoffs across several of Huge’s U.S. offices earlier this month. At the time an agency spokesperson attributed the decision to “proactively evolving our workforce to reflect the changing needs of our clients.”
