Kuby Lands on Air America Radio

Liberal talker Ron Kuby, pushed out of mornings on WABC-AM in New York, to make way for the return of Don Imus, has landed at Air America Radio. Beginning Monday, June 9, Kuby will be the host of American Afternoon on the network from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

While hosts on Citadel Broadcasting’s WABC from 2000 to 2007, Curtis [Sliwa] and Kuby’s ratings consistently placed them among the top 10 programs in mornings. The program was one of the few radio Talk shows featuring hosts with ideologically opposing views, Kuby on the left and Sliwa on the right.

“I am delighted to be joining Air America’s powerful voices in these challenging times,” Kuby said. “We’ll have the news, analysis, opinion, calls and hopefully a few things that listeners haven’t thought of yet, or don’t want to think about.”

In addition to his new radio program, Kuby, a practicing civil rights and criminal defense attorney, is currently guest anchor for trial coverage on TruTV’s In Session.

Air America programming airs on about 60 affiliates, XM Satellite Radio and the Internet.
Sliwa is still at WABC, hosting 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
