Continental to Rep Bonten

Bonten Media has consolidated all of its stations with Katz Media’s Continental Television Sales, Katz Television Group announced Tuesday (Sept. 30).

Continental, which already represented national sales for four stations, will add six additional Bonten stations, five previously handled by Petry Media and one station represented by Continental’s sister company, Millennium Sales & Marketing.

Bonten’s move is a blow to Petry Media, which has lost several station clients in the past few months to other rep firms, including stations owned by Gannett Broadcasting and Nexstar, among others.

The six Bonten stations coming over to Continental include KAEF-TV in Eureka, Calif.; KRCR-TV in Redding, Calif.; KTXE-TV in San Angelo, Tex.; KTXS-TV in Abilene, Tex.; and WCYB-TV in Bristol, Va.; WFXI-TV in Greenville, N.C. (formerly repped by Katz’s Millennium).

“We are pleased to deepen our relationship with Continental Television Sales,” said Randall Bongarten, chairman and CEO for Bonten. “The company is outstanding and it’s a perfect fit for our markets and stations.”
