OpenAI is piloting brand suitability controls with DoubleVerify (DV) and Integral Ad Science (IAS), giving advertisers an independent read on how ChatGPT’s ad safeguards work, the company announced Monday during Advertising Week New York.
The two verification firms will assess how OpenAI applies its brand safety standards in a controlled testing environment, without access to private user conversations.
The tool comes as ChatGPT reaches 1.2 billion people each week, according to OpenAI.
“Our goal is to give advertisers greater transparency into how those safeguards work while protecting conversation privacy,” OpenAI said in a blog post.
Bringing on outside verification firms follows a path other platforms have taken to win over buyers wary of media sellers grading their own work.
