Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg have largely managed to avoid appearing in front of legislators both in the U.S. and abroad despite a myriad of controversies and requests for the presence of the company’s two most public faces. This week, that responsibility shifted to someone with considerable experience in those matters.

Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post Wednesday that vice president of global affairs and communications Nick Clegg has been promoted to president, global affairs.
