Spanish Broadcasting System has re-signed for Arbitron’s portable people meter service, Arbitron announced Wednesday (June 2). The settlement follows SBS’ decision in April to begin encoding its radio stations, putting its stations back in the ratings.

The return of the Spanish-language broadcaster to Arbitron’s client roster ends once and for all the ongoing legal dispute between the two companies, which dragged on for several months.

“Both Arbitron and SBS are committed to working together to address SBS’s previously voiced concerns about the impact of the PPM service on minority radio broadcasters,” said Frank Flores, chief revenue officer for SBS.
