In January of 2009, Oprah Winfrey, along with Discovery Communications president and CEO David Zaslav, announced the appointment of Christina Norman as CEO of the then-yet-to-be-launched Oprah Winfrey Network. Prior to that appointment, Norman had overseen MTV’s business and creative affairs as president since 2005. She remains one of the highest-ranking African-American women in the entertainment industry.

During the cable portion of TCA, Norman spoke with Adweek correspondent Alan Frutkin about OWN’s launch and its relationship with advertisers.
