Studio71, a multichannel network that works with some of YouTube’s most popular creators, is approaching this year’s NewFronts in a brand new way. Instead of bringing media buyers and reporters into an event space this year, they will stream their NewFront presentation.
NewFronts are an annual event for new media publishers and creators to show potential ad partners what types of content have performed well and what new projects advertisers will have the opportunity to participate with.
“We’ll be discussing our meteoric rise in delivery throughout the past year or so,” said Matt Seiler, the president of Brand Solutions for Studio71. “We’ve nearly doubled our monthly views while maintaining the same number of channels.”
Content produced by Studio71 creators, like Lilly Singh, The Rock, Rhett and Link, and hundreds of others, garners over 7 billion monthly views.
“The whole point of creating content in a digital medium is for people to watch when they want, wherever they want,” said Seiler.
Seiler’s hope is that this move will connect with the young, socially minded viewers of digital content by reaching out to make a difference or make value in the world.
The stream will be available throughout the month of May so people can watch when they have the time.
“Our creators make must-see-TV for a non-TV viewing audience,” said Seiler. “This is where the best content is. It’s a more engaging medium than TV can be, so our industry has to think differently.”
The digital presentation will be sent to a broad audience on May 9 at 12 p.m., which is Studio71’s currently scheduled slot in the NewFronts lineup. With each stream, Studio71 will donate a contribution to WE Charity, an organization that encourages kids to become involved in both local and global communities to create social change.
