Back in September YouTube launched a major overhaul of their Video Editor, complete with a new look, new tools, effects and more. This week the YouTube Video Editor has become even better, with an updated interface for video enhancements.
Yesterday the online video sharing site launched a brand new “faster, easier to use, and more powerful” version of the enhancements section of their video editor. Software Engineer John Gregg writes about how the editor has been updated on the YouTube Creator blog:
“You now have a real-time, interactive preview of the edited video, a quick view of available filters, and a simplified interface. To try this out on your own videos, go to Video Manager > Edit > Enhancements.”
Check out the screenshot below to get an idea of how it works. It basically splits the screen down the center and shows you how the original video looks compared to the enhanced version. Pretty sweet.
If you aren’t familiar with YouTube’s Enhancements, they include Instagram-esque filters like Lomo-ish, Old Fashioned, Heat Map, Cartoon and more. Via the Enhancements screen you can also fine-tune lighting and color.
