2 Days Left: Create A Commercial For Your YouTube Channel & Get Free Promotion

Hey YouTube creators!  You’ve got two days left to take advantage of YouTube’s offer to promote your channel for free.  Tell your channel’s story in 30 seconds or less, submit it to YouTube and, if your submission qualifies, it will be exposed across YouTube and the Google Display Network, for free.

All the details are laid out on the submissions page: “You can tell your story better than anyone.  We’re experimenting with new and better ways to help you build the biggest and most engaged audience in the world.  Submit your eligible trailer and you may have a chance to be promoted on the Google Display Network, which includes YouTube.”  Your trailer must be 30 seconds or less and follow YouTube’s community guidelines, copyright policies, and the terms and conditions listed on the submissions page.

So what exactly are they looking for?  According to Ryan Morales or Creator Marketing, who posted on the YouTube Creators blog, they want you to create “a trailer that showcases your best content and makes viewers feel like they can’t live without you.”  Check out the examples below for inspiration:

YouTube offers up some best practices for trailer creation here.  They suggest that you remember that first impressions count, show the best bits, make your trailer easy to understand (remember, not everyone watching is familiar with your channel) and leave people wanting to see more.

Submissions are open until tomorrow night, July 19, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.  You’ve got a busy two days ahead of you if you want to make your trailer and take advantage of the free promotion.  Good luck!
