Vidmind Helps Brands Get Into The Cloud TV Biz In A Snap With Readymade OTT Video Solution

Television viewers are after one thing—TV that doesn’t suck.  They want to get their TV fix where they want, when they want, but cable companies are infamous for doing a lousy job of providing this service.  That’s where Vidmind steps in.

Today at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC2012) in Amsterdam, Vidmind is launching an end-to-end over-the-top (OTT) solution for operators, broadcasters and retailers.   The platform is readymade and easy to customize, making it easy for companies to get into cloud TV without the risk.

The Vidmind cloud-based solution consists of an Android Set-Top-Box (STB), a web interface for operators, back-end servers and a developer SDK.  Using these tools, brands can easily deliver HD-TV and VoD content to their customers, anywhere in the world, across devices.  Vidmind also integrates social features and a TV app market, as well as built-in content promotion and personalized advertising capabilities.

A press release provides more information:

“Designed with the user in mind, Vidmind’s solution supercharges the TV experience with viral and social user acquisition features, while maintaining the distinctive simplicity, engagement and ‘stickiness’ of the traditional television experience.  Second screen functionality allows users to interact with broadcast content without interrupting it.

“The Vidmind end-to-end solution enables operators, broadcasters and retailers to expand their business and rapidly go to market, serving and monetizing a compelling world of entertainment at minimal risk.  It is already in field trials by an East-European billion-dollar company, a newcomer to the video services business.”

Danny Peled, CEO of Vidmind, says, “The rise of Netflix, Hulu and the other ‘new service providers’ proves that the Gordian knot between ‘content and infrastructure’ can finally be untied thanks to the Internet.  Consumers are making the obvious decision to cut costs and our customers enjoy the early movers’ advantage in capitalizing on this trend.”
