VEVO Begins Syndicating Content To Yahoo! Music

Yahoo has seen tremendous growth in video recently, surpassing VEVO in last month’s comScore Online video Rankings to become the second most-viewed video property in the U.S. with over 60 million unique viewers.  On the tails of that announcement, a new VEVO-Yahoo announcement has hit the web—you can now watch VEVO videos on Yahoo! Music.

The announcement first went live on the VEVO Twitter account yesterday evening.

Glenn Peoples of Billboard reports that the VEVO content will be rolled out “in the coming weeks and months.”  Peoples writes that, “Yahoo! gives VEVO a way to reach viewers outside of its other syndication partners and its own web and mobile properties.”

Yahoo! Music joins other VEVO syndication partners including AOL, Facebook, YouTube, MTV, BET, Univision and  VEVO music videos account for many of the most-viewed videos on YouTube so it will be interesting to see how this new partnership will contribute to the growth of Yahoo! Video.

Dave DiMartino reports some updates to the site on the Yahoo! Music blog and adds, “We also teamed up with a music video platform leader, VEVO, to deliver a deeper catalog of artists and a top-notch video player that will significantly up the look and feel of music videos on our site.  We think you’ll instantly notice the upgrade in video quality and we’d love to get your feedback in this regard.”
