Verizon Wireless Launches Usage Control Service

Verizon Wireless just launched a new service called Usage Controls, which lets subscribers better manage their mobile activity, MediaPost reports. It’s similar to Verizon’s pre-existing, Web-based parental controls, except that in this case, users can set limits on voice minutes, picture messaging, text messaging, video, and IM.

Here’s a key feature: “The service can also be used to restrict mobile data use and messaging during certain times of day and to create lists of blocked and ‘trusted’ numbers,” the report said.
