Twitter Takes On Malaria

Twitter teamed up with Malaria No More and The Case Foundation on an initiative to help combat the deadly disease, allowing users of the microblogging service to pledge $10 donations with Tweets about malaria, which will be matched by The Case Foundation.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone posted on the Twitter Blog:

Malaria threatens one-half of the world’s population, resulting in 350 million cases each year and nearly 1 million deaths on an annual basis — many of them children.
