Report: Facebook To Open Temporary Vancouver Office To Recruit, Train Engineering Talent

Facebook will set up a temporary office in Vancouver, British Columbia, where it will conduct “boot camps” to train recent software engineering graduates for full-time positions with the social network, according to a report in The Vancouver Sun.

The newspaper reported that the office will open in May, and Facebook is looking to hire up to 150 people to staff it, many of them software engineers.

Vancouver was also the site of a Facebook Developer World Hack 2012 event last September.

The social network told the Sun Vancouver was a logical choice due to its location near its engineering office in Seattle and its corporate headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif.,
