Study: Social Media Use Up in TV Newsrooms

The 2010 TV and Radio News Staffing Probability Survey, from the Radio Television Digital News Association and Hofstra University, uncovered increased usage of social media in TV newsrooms, Mashable reported.

According to the study, as reported by Mashable, 77 percent of TV newsrooms currently use Twitter, with 36 percent saying they use it constantly, 35 percent daily, and 16 percent periodically, while just 13 percent said they do not use the microblogging service at all. Facebook did not fare as well, with only 20 percent of respondents saying they had pages on the social-networking site.
