Ever wish you could not only talk with your favorite artist, but give feedback on their newest music, too? Soundrop is making that possible through a Facebook application. Soundrop created listening rooms on Facebook, which allow fans of popular musicians to chat with other fans, as well as the artists, about the latest songs. Soundrop has already partnered with several popular artists, such as Matisyahu, Franz Ferdinand, Abba, and Public Enemy.
Through the Soundrop app on several artists’ Facebook pages, fans can enter into listening rooms to check out the musicians’ latest releases. This is a feature that Soundrop first brought to Spotify, a very popular app on Facebook, but is now rolling out on the social network.
Soundrop CEO Inge Andre Sandvik talked about his company’s Facebook offerings in a press release:
We’re excited to make Soundrop available in the main place where artists connect with their fans. Whether you want to use Vevo and YouTube or Spotify as your music service, Soundrop has you covered. We streamed more than 500 million tracks last year in Spotify, and now we’re excited to help artists accelerate their video traffic by bringing our same addictive social music service to Facebook.
Soundrop also released a schedule of upcoming chats:
- Matisyahu, Jan. 29 (12:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. GMT)
- Delphic, Jan. 31 (2 p.m./7 p.m.)
- MC Lars, Feb. 1 (3 p.m./8 p.m.)
- Owl City (Adam), Feb. 4 (2 p.m./7 p.m.)
- Dan Deacon, Feb. 5
- Devlin, Feb. 6
