The May 31 incident in which Israeli soldiers killed nine people on a Turkish ship carrying supplies to the Gaza Strip was the subject of the most news links shared by bloggers, while Twitter users were gearing up for 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, and the most-viewed news and politics video on YouTube was a report from ITN News about a toddler in Indonesia who is addicted to cigarettes, according to the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism’s New Media Index for the week of May 31-June 4.

Debate over who was to blame for the flotilla fiasco accounted for 32 percent of news links shared via blogs, and it was followed by: an interactive graphic from BBC.com
