Moontoast, VideoGenie Team Up To Bring Brand Advocates’ User-Generated Videos To Facebook

By David Cohen

It’s not quite the Facebook video ads that have been the subject of rumors, but social rich media advertising platform Moontoast and user-generated-video platform VideoGenie announced Thursday that they have teamed up to integrate VideoGenie’s capabilities for capturing and managing user-generated video with Moontoast’s ad units.

The two companies said their collaboration marks the first time brand advocates will be able to create and post user-generated videos directly within Facebook’s News Feed, allowing brands to tap into brand advocacy and word-of-mouth marketing.

Moontoast CEO Blair Heavey said:

Brands are looking to engage on a deeper level with their communities in social platforms such as Facebook through social activation — the process of offering their fans promotions, contests, games, and commerce directly in the Facebook News Feed. Moontoast and VideoGenie now enable brands to let their brand advocates be a part of the conversation, resulting in sound returns on their social advertising investment.

And VideoGenie Founder and CEO Justin Nassiri added:

VideoGenie is all about real people creating and sharing inherently viral video content around their biggest passions, primarily on Facebook. We are excited to partner with Moontoast to bring the power of dynamic, authentic video experiences to leading brands looking to create meaningful and lasting relationships with their fans through social advertising directly in the Facebook News Feed.
